I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company.
When you have a chronic illness sleep is never easy. Whether it’s because you have painsomnia, your brain just won’t slow down, or your sleep cycle is so messed up that sleep is the biggest battle you fight every day. I personally have always had trouble with sleep. I need a lot of it, but it typically takes me an hour to fall asleep which can make life difficult. Additionally, I’m a worrier. I can suppress my worries and anxieties during the day, but the second I lay my head on the pillow my thoughts start racing. Which is why I was excited to try out the Thync Relax System which is designed to improve sleep and reduce anxiety.
How it works- the science
Thync was developed by scientists after 5 years of testing, 5,000 test sessions, 1,300 nights of monitored sleep, and 2,650,200 minutes of use by customers. It is designed for people who are stressed and anxious or who need more sleep at night. It uses low level electrical stimulation to activate specific nerve pathways on the head and neck. These pathways communicate with areas in the brain that help control stress levels, mood and sleep quality.

My experience with Thync Relax Pro
As I mentioned previously I was really hoping Thync would help me with sleep, but unfortunately it did not. What it did help me with was anxiety and racing thoughts before sleep. Although the lessening of those thoughts while lying in bed was very helpful, it didn’t actually lead to better or more restful sleep. However, lowering my anxiety level is no small feat. I was impressed with how much using Thync calmed me down. I even used it during the day a few times when I felt myself getting anxious and it really helped.
I liked that Thync Relax Pro was simple and easy to use. It was simple to place the pads on the device and stick on the back of the neck. The first time I used it I had my husband put it on, but after that I felt comfortable placing it myself. It was also simple to take it off and store it on the pad provided when it wasn’t in use.
My only criticism of Thync was that connection between the pod and the app had some problems. My device was constantly losing the connection and it was a real pain to fix. On average, every time I tried to Thync it took me 5-10 minutes to get everything started. I would lose the connection over and over again. Overall I liked using Thync Relax Pro and I plan on using it again, it just needs a few of the bugs worked out before I’ll be completely satisfied.
Chronic pain is really bad and it can lead to sleepless pain. I am too caught into depression.
